Prompting was never the final form. Skills probably are

The rise of skills frameworks says the market is moving from one-off prompting to reusable operating procedures.

I keep coming back to one item from GitHub Trending: obra/superpowers. The GitHub Trending repo frames agent skills as a reusable development method instead of a pile of prompts.

what I think this really means

I like this trend because it admits something the market has been dodging. Prompting is a bad long-term abstraction for teams. Reusable skills feel much closer to how software is actually maintained.

where I would place the bet

My bet is that the winning agent products will not talk about intelligence first. They will talk about repeatability. If a workflow can be named, versioned, audited, and improved over time, it starts to look like software instead of theater.

Once you see that, a lot of the market noise gets much easier to ignore.
